Website Maintenance & Management

So, now that you've launched your new site... who's going to take care of it?

Everyone agrees – content is king! Your website is your first impression – user surveys say 94% of first impressions are a result of your website.

The primary purpose of your website is provide users with accurate up-to-date information about your business and its products and services, as well as prices and availability. When users land on you site it’s your chance to impress. Don’t disappoint them with old content, broken links, pictures improperly sized, outdated prices and discontinued or unavailable products/services.

Everything is automatic - except when it isn't.

While WordPress is an amazingly robust and reliable software, when features or plugins are updated sometimes they are no longer compatible with the newest version of WP or simply don’t play well with another plugin, the result is usually a critical failure and your site is not accessible. There is nothing wrong with the host server, it’s your website software.

That’s why we back up nightly before WordPress or any plugins are updated. If something breaks, we just roll back to the previous day.

However, actually fixing critical errors requires skill and hours of work. Our maintenance plan has got you covered. We’ll work on the problem until it’s fixed.

Content Updates

The quality and freshness of your website content will determine your results.

The more relevant your content, the better your results will be. Search engines are all about providing the best results for user inquiries. Website pages that are old or irrelevant will get low page scores and will show up way back in the pack. Just as importantly, when users land on your site they will leave if don’t think your site is worth their time. Often times, this “bounce rate” is determined by how your information is presented and how current it is.

99.9% Uptime

You never know when someone is going to visit your site, which is why reliability is so important.

If you site doesn’t load, clients may think you are not paying attention or worse – that you have gone out of business.

Our hosting guarantees 99.9% uptime.

The Kiss of Death

A 404 error is often returned when pages have been moved or deleted. When the page has been removed, it is better to employ URL mapping or URL redirection by returning a 301 Moved Permanently response, which can be configured in most server configuration files. Regardless, when a user gets the dreaded 404 message it may be the last time they visit your site.

How Search Engines Work

Search engines send out robots called crawlers that constantly roam the Internet, looking over the code and content for each URL (page) they find. They then store and index the content and score each page according to their algorithm. The higher the page score, the higher up on the search page results page (SERP) they will land.

Turbo Speed

Using a technique called server caching, our servers are super fast. Just like your computer caches your content we do the same thing but on the powerful server level, which is many times faster.

Link Building

Link building is acquiring hyperlinks from other websites pointed to your own. A hyperlink (or link) is a way for users to navigate between pages on the internet. Search engines follow links to crawl the Internet. They will crawl the internal links between the individual pages on your website, and the external links between different websites.

Link building is hard. If you can master the art of building high-quality links, it will put you ahead your competition.

Keyword Research

Keyword research is important to make sure your content appears higher in search results. It involves researching popular search terms and topics and using them in content on your website in order to improve SEO and show up at the top of result pages.

Search

If you want your business to be seen, showing up in searches is important. Local and National SEO, Google Ads, and Google My Business are all ways you can boost your site to the top of search results. You can also have a search bar on your own site that allows people to navigate easier around your site and find content they are looking for.

Google

Google has a whopping 87.8% of the search engine market in the United States.

This huge traffic potential makes Google THE option for organic or paid search. Of course, virtually everyone, is competing for the same traffic.

Recent changes to Google’s algorithm, like featured snippets, aim to fulfill users needs directly on Google, so they don’t need to click any links. These changes, and Google’s popularity, might make it hard for you to capture the website traffic you want.

Caffeine

When you use Google to search the Internet you are actually searching Caffeine, Google’s index. If your site is not indexed in Caffeine it won’t be found.

Search Engine Optimization

Google takes many things into account when deciding what pages show up on the first page of search results. Plus with Google ads, content is pushed down even further. Most people don’t look past the first page of Google search results so being on the first page is important to growing your business and being seen.

Figuring out SEO can be daunting. We can help you improve your page score and move your business further up in Google search results.
